Love in the future
I was off today, so decided to treat myself to an afternoon movie...oooh, the bliss of enjoying the cool comfort of a darkened movie hall in the middle of the day while 3/4 of the working population is hard at work....
Anyway, I watched "The Lakehouse", a sweet little romantic movie starring two relative unknowns, Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock :-) Keanu played an architect in 2004, Sandy a doctor in 2006. Through some wierd time vacuum/glitch thingy, they're able to write to each other by leaving their notes in a letter box at a gorgeous glass lakehouse perched on a beautiful lake (why can't we get such places in Singapore????). Of course, they fall in love (duh!) They manage to share a walk through the city (amazing!), Sandy yearns for a tree and Keanu promptly lugs one all the way over to her place to plant it so that it'll be there when she needs it.....It's a romance, what did you expect?!?!?
Now, I don't know about you, but if I ever start communicating with someone from the future, I know I won't be wasting my time wishing for a tree. I'll be asking him/her for the winning numbers in the 4-D, Toto, Singapore Sweep, you name it for the past 2 years!!! I'll also ask him to tell me who won the world cup so I'd whack on Italy the minute the odds came out!
Does that sound horribly superficially mercernary??? Guess architect scions from famous rich architects and busy doctors (Keanu's and Sandy's characters respectively) don't need the dough... and I guess that's why Sandy gets Keanu while bimbettes like me only get to swoon over him from afar....
Still, it was a nice and sweet movie, and I'd recommend it to anyone who has 90 minutes or so to spare and nothing else better to do.....Guys, take your gals to watch it. They'll come out in a nice romantic mood and you can persuade them to watch an EPL game in return!

So... you were in the cinema this afternoon... no wonder no emails from you.
Ah... it is one of those "if you have some time to spare, you can go watch" kind of movie.
Well, please share the winning numbers with your good and old friends if you are communicating with anyone from the future :-)
